It is talk-based counselling intended to help people discover, challenge and change unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
I use many interventions however I approach each person using a family systems framework to conceptualize; I ground my work in Brief Therapy (Solution-Focused Therapy), Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Overall, my approach to counselling is anti-oppressive, client-centered and trauma-informed.
We all have blind spots. Therapy helps us to identify those challenging areas of and learn how to address them in new ways.
You will get an overview of the process of therapy; this will outline your role and the therapist role. You will have a chance to ask any questions or share your concerns and expectations. You will also begin to provide context for why you are seeking therapy at this time.
Individual session fee is $150. Couple session fee is $180. Family session fee is $200. Sliding scale is available (a fee will be determined with your therapist based on your ability to pay). Session fees are paid before the session. Receipts are provided to submit to the insurance provider for reimbursement.
